German Foreign Minister, who visited this week the Zaatari camp for Syrian refugees, north of the Jordan kingdom, which is now a home for about 80 000 refugees, said that “Germany has so far provided 210 million euros aid for Syrian refugees and for the countries who hosting them.”
And he added that Germany “now hosts 130 000 Syrian refugees, and there is a possibility to increase this number.”
In addition to that he said “it will be discussed with the foreign ministers of the European Union the possibility of EU countries receiving for Syrian refugees with quotas, we’ll see if we can apply this system,” and he added that “the problem is that there is no many countries in Europe, ready to receive the refugees.”
“We must end the civil war in Syria and we must supply enabling conditions for refugees to return back home, I know this is very difficult and will not happen next week or next month,“ he said.
