On Monday 19th October, the grime and UK rap scene will prove its ability to come together in support of a good cause through #GRIMEAID, a night of live music at The Nest in Dalston hosted by Julie Adenuga. The line-up, which is still yet to be fully revealed, boasts appearances from Chip, Logan Sama, Youngs Teflon and Jevon, who will take to the stage to show solidarity for the men, woman and children fleeing their homes in Syria after their home has been torn apart by civil war.

#GRIMEAID‘s curator, Caroline SM, explains: “It’s really important for the world to know that we as a British music scene can come together to support causes outside of our circle. The horrific images seen on TV and newspapers daily have touched a lot of people and all the artists performing on the night have expressed their understanding and support, which just highlights how positive the Grime scene really is.”

Ra’ed Khan will be travelling to Serbia later in the month in order to provide aid and adds: “The situation there is getting worse daily especially with the winter ahead, the money this event will raise will make countless lives desperate for basic necessities a tad easier. It is an honour to be a part of such a great cause”.

Advance tickets for the event can be purchased for £5 here and will be available on the door for £8. All proceeds go to assisting refugees in Serbia, so be sure to get down and support a great cause!

Doors open at 7PM. Show starts at 8PM. The Nest, 36 Stoke Newington Rd, Dalston, London N16 7XJ
