Lynchburg, VA – A Lynchburg man is collecting donations for the millions of Syrians, who have left their homes to escape the on-going civil war.

Firas Al-Qublan has teamed up with the Greater Lynchburg Islamic Association and the Rahman Relief foundation. Together they are trying to collect new and used clothes, shoes and blankets that are still in good condition

They are also in need of non-perishable foods, baby food, diapers and school supplies. Al-Qublan says while in Jordan, this summer, he visited the refugee camps there.

And after seeing the horrible living conditions, he says he felt the need to help. “A lot of children. I saw them bare, walking with no shoes, no socks and light clothes” said Al-Qublan.

Al-Qublan says he will be collecting goods until the end of the month, but they are also accepting cash donations to help with shipping.
