The Head of the European Union delegation to Lebanon, said Qatar has played pivotal role in helping Syrian refugees in Lebanon by providing material and non-material aid. Lebanon needs more aid because of the continuous influx of refugees, she told Al Sharq in an interview. Relief has come in crucial time to protect the needy from harsh winter, she said, adding Qatar and EU relations have become stronger in the past years. The relationship has got a boost after the signing of a cooperation agreement between EU and GCC countries in 1988. She said EU will work with Qatar in many areas, including energy, transportation and interior affairs.
