Ready Pac Foods Inc. plans to hire and train some of the 10,000 or more Syrian refugees President Obama has committed to accepting in the fiscal year starting in October.

With processing facilities in Irwindale, Calif.; Florence, N.J.; Swedesboro, N.J.; and Jackson, Ga., Ready Pac is able to provide opportunities for new recruits and employees, according to a news release.

“We feel the responsibility to help others in need,” Tony Sarsam, Ready Pac CEO, said in the release. “With the influx of refugees coming to the United States, we want to help them build a future in their new home.”

As part of the training, Ready Pac plans to provide resources and expertise to a number of positions within its manufacturing business and work to create long-term jobs for those in need.

In September, Obama ordered his administration to take in at least 10,000 Syrians displaced by the war in Syria. Fewer than 2,000 were accepted in the current fiscal year.
