The Canadian government established a fund for Syrian refugees in the neighboring countries of Syria, with the value equal to private donations from Canadians, «according to what has been announced Christian Paradis, Minister of International Development».

Canadians express their readiness to assist Syrian refugees and «to ensure that their donations have a greater impact», the Government established «Syrian Fund for urgent help», according to the Minister in a press conference.

The Minister added that that for every dollar donated by Canadians, the government will provide to the Fund the same amount up to 100 million Canadian dollars «66 million euros» by 31 December.

And these funds will be allocated for «the basic needs of those affected by the conflict in Syria, such as tents, water, food and medicines».

Canadian aid will be provided through the United Nations or non-governmental organizations «such as the Red Cross and Red Crescent», while Paradis confirmed that Canada will send more resources to Beirut, Ankara and Amman.
