United Nations: 1,761,000 Syrian refugees registered in Turkey

UN responsible explained that the number of Syrian refugees registered in Turkey, arrived with the end of May last, to 1,761,486 refugees, according to official Turkish statistics.

That was reported from Responsible of Community Service Unit at the UN High Commissioner for Refugees of the United Nations, Zainab Aijlal Ince Uglo, in a speech with her on Saturday, during the opening of the graphics exhibition of Syrians and Turks children in Centre “Narlija” for life support, in the state of Hatay border with Syria, southern Turkey, on the occasion of World Refugee Day.

Ince Uglo, considered in her speech, that the number of Syrian refugees who flocking to Turkey “gives an idea of the size of the Syrian crisis, and psychological support provided by” Narlija “refugee centre, she said that it provides an important role in dealing with the effects caused by war on the psyche of the Syrians refugees, and helping them to psychological recovery, and to achieve social harmony”.

She pointed to the support of UNHCR for activities that aim to create a common peaceful life, between refugees and citizens of the host country, and help the refugees to engage in community
